About Me
Over the past decade, I’ve worked hard to be a changemaker in my workplace and community. I dove deeply into climate action work, spending long hours working at a conservation non-profit, co-founding Carbon Conversations TO, taking personal actions, going to networking events, attending climate marches. I put every ounce of my being into climate action work.
Eventually… I got tired. My motivation disappeared. I felt obligated, not excited to do the work I once loved. I felt…nothing. Just numb.
I had the immense privilege of taking a 5-week break off work to relax, reconnect with my creative side, process my climate-related emotions, and gain clarity on how I want to contribute my gifts to the world. And it was absolutely wonderful. But here’s the thing: as soon as I went back to work, I fell right back into old habits.
I quickly realized that I could only feel sustained in climate action work if I was willing to incorporate a kind self-awareness and gentleness into my daily decisions. I could only move toward fulfillment if I listened to my intuition. I could have the greatest impact only if I allowed myself more time and space to move toward what I really wanted, not just what I felt I “could” or “should” be doing. And perhaps most importantly, I realized there are so many things outside of climate action space that make life worth living.
With the help of peers, mentors, coaches and the ACE Coach training program, I learned tools to discover my goals and dreams both as a climate leader and a human being. I gained confidence to forge my own path toward them. My learning journey is far from over, but it would be my privilege to share these tools and practices with you.
Coaching: I’m enrolled in the ICF-Certified ACE Coach Training program, working toward the ACC credential
Workshop facilitation: I’ve hosted dozens of speaking events, webinars, workshops, open conversation spaces on a variety of topics related to climate action.
Mental health and climate change: I am a co-founder and President of Carbon Conversations TO, a grassroots community group to support others in processing the difficult emotions that come with letting the climate crisis into our hearts.
Employee engagement: At WWF-Canada, I engaged thousands of people from dozens of workplaces across Canada on conservation projects that encourage employees to learn about nature, volunteer for causes they care about and develop sustainable habits.
Sustainability Communications: I’ve written and contributed to DIY toolkits, 1-pagers, newsletters, blogs, and social media posts for workplaces related to the intersection of people and climate change.
